Cleepto's Bazaar

The merchant screen is reached between levels where the players can buy new cards or sell ones they've picked up. It features a ready system that allows the party to continue when all members are finished.


Bringing it to PC

He wasn't called Cleepto at this point so I called him Gob Lin. I also came up with the name Cleepto funnily enough cos I thought it'd be funny if he was selling cards he probably stole.

Anyways this is the perfect screen to bring the character to life so he was the anchor of many wireframe explorations.

We knew the player had to sell or buy cards but to have it all in one screen was a bit tricky.

And a 3d overlay since the players would be in the same scene as the VR players.

And then maybe a different layout that could scale nicely


Refinement

After a sync with the team, we felt the side menu would be the best option so we can still see the scene in the background.


After this, I cleaned up the sketches, mapped out localization limits and added in the card hand for players to peruse and compare


Higher Fidelity

Our UI artist did a pass on the screen so we updated the flows and breakdowns of use cases to be 1:1 with the engine look.

With this we were pretty much ready for production cleanup. We had prototypes already working in engine so we could go in and clean up ready for launch.
